Soul Pancake

Post by Betsy »

If you watch "The Office" you are familiar with actor Rainn Wilson, who plays the strange character who stores weapons around the workplace. Wilson is also founder of and financier for the Web site www.soulpancake.com.

“We call it a site for life’s big questions,” Wilson tells The Bulletin. “And that’s really what it’s about, for people to dig into why we’re alive and debate life’s big questions.”

Wilson was raised in and continues to practice the Baha’i Faith. He said he believes that creativity, spirituality and philosophy are largely absent online, and wanted to create something that isn't "lame" with regard to these subjects.

I saw an interview about this with him on a news show the other night and checked out the site - on that date, the top story/question was about whether you believe prayer is answered. There was a "man on the street" video and everyone said they did believe prayers are answered, some included disclaimers such as it depends on what you pray for.

Anyway, check it out. Honestly? It seems pretty "lame" to me, but I'm guessing that since Rainn Wilson is behind it, the site is apparently very popular.
