May 27 '06 Freethinker Meeting

Post by Dardedar »

It's time for another Fayetteville Freethinker meeting!

This month we have two very topical items. Doug Krueger will be giving
a presentation on the DaVinci Code. Is there some truth to the
assertion that Jesus and Mary Magdalene had an affair? Were they
married? Did they even *gasp!* have kids?! And is Opus Dei, the
Catholic organization featured in the DaVinci Code book and movie,
really a bunch of James Bond wannabes led by an evil albino? Come find
out.

Also, EV-angelist Darrel Henschell will shamelessly plug his new line
of super-efficient electric scooters. Researching electric vehicles for
a freethinker presentation led to him opening the first store in
Arkansas devoted to full size, street legal electric scooters for
adults. Clean, green, no gasoline. Think global, scoot local.

A few years ago we had a presentation on the science behind polygraph
machines and their new cousin, computer voice stress analysis. Our
local police station has purchased these expensive machines which
purportedly detect dishonesty by analyzing stress patterns in your
voice. You'll have an educated opinion after watching our video clip.

And we'll have an update on our Springfest booth adventure and much,
much more. Don't miss our May meeting!
