July Freethinker Swim meet

Not having any major presentations in the works we thought we might just head out to the lake like we did last year. Professor Bill Harter has again kindly offered the use of his boat dock this Saturday. So, there will be no meeting at the library this weekend.

We will have announcments and if you have any news or something interesting you would like to share, bring it along.

The location is a little tricky to find so like last year I propose we meet at the following gas station and do a convoy. Bill's place is about 15 minutes away. Here is a google map that will show you how to get to the gas station we are going to meet at. Just click on this link, or cut and paste this into your browser and hit enter:

At this site you can also put your address in and it will give you written directions from your home address to this gas station.

Directions:
If you are in Fayetteville, you could just go north on crossover (265), and go about two miles north of Springdale. The road turns into Old Wire road. When you reach the light at the Hwy 264 intersection, the gas station is on the corner. If you are coming from Rogers, you could come south on business 71 and at the second light past Lowell, turn east (left) on Hwy 264 (toward Hickory Creek) and go about a mile. The first traffic light you come to is the intersection where we will be.

We will meet this Saturday (July 29) at this gas station at the intersection of Old Wire and 264, between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. If you have any trouble, or questions, call Darrel at: 479-442-6738. His phone works at the lake and he can direct you in if you are running a little late.

Bill doesn't have running water at his cabin right now so we won't be staying for dinner. After an afternoon at the lake we plan to drive back to Fayetteville and have dinner at a restaurant. So it would be good to bring snacks and drinks for the lake but nothing for the grill this time. Things that help you float can be useful too...

Hope you can make it.

D.

Okay, for those of us losers who didn't make it to the swim meet, I have to ask: Did anyone get wildly drunk and do flips into the lake?
