George Michael tour launches with pop at Bush

Image

25.09.06

A mature, modest and (almost) scandal-free George Michael took the stage in his first solo concert in 15 years. But the pop star couldn't resist making another controversial dig at George Bush.

At the end of the first set Michael sang his 2002 controversial anti-Bush song "Shoot the Dog."

During the number, an enormous balloon depicting a cartoon-ish George Bush rose out of centre stage, drawing whoops and yells from the crowd. But the real surprise came when Michael leaned down to unzip the balloon's trousers, and out popped a British bulldog draped with the UK flag. The dog was stuck to the balloon's inflated crotch, wagging its tail.

Not that I think Tony Blair is all that sane, but I wish SOMEBODY SANE would get Bush by the short hairs. A little sanity in control would be nice.

Many in the UK think the same thing of Bush and Blair, hence Blair's unpopularity. Yesterday a news segment showed a British radio host taking calls about what people think of Blair. It wasn't pretty.

George Michael has been in a lot of trouble lately, for driving while intoxicated as he cruises around looking for guys to randomly have sex with. He's been arrested for this at least twice in the last year. The paparazzi got photos of him coming out of the bushes after having a tryst a couple of months ago with a grody old practically homeless man. I'm sorry I know that. So, he might not be the most credible person to stand up against GWB because GWB supporters will just focus on those things intead of the statement being made...

George Michael is just making comedy while telling everyone what they already know. "Blair is Bush's poodle" has been around a long time but I am amazed that an entertainer could give such a brazen and provocative display. I guess it takes someone with the sexual, lets say "breadth", of Michael's (the slut) to have a huge display of Blair lapping at the crotch of Bush as part of his show. Good for him!
Drunken driving is poor but Cheney has had two DUI's and he's the VP and shoots people when he gets drunk. Between consenting adults, I couldn't give a flip who someone has sex with. Homeless people need jiggy too....
