Entrance to Heaven

Post by Betsy »

I wasn't sure whether to put this in the "Science" Category, or the "Religion" Category but here it is.

A well-intending Baptist minister sent this to me, claiming that these photos were taken by the Hubble Telescope (some time last year, he said when I asked) -- he couldn't remember how many light years away it is, but it's the furthest galaxy that the Hubble can see. I said, sorry but these are probably fakes done in photoshop, he SWORE it was real (because someone told him so). So, I'm putting it up to my trusty truth and fact finders to see what's going on here...

okay here it is, the whole big galaxy thingy:

[img]WHIRLPOOL%20GALAXY%20X.jpg[/img]

Now, in the nucleus of the big swirly thing, look what they've discovered....could it be the entrance to heaven?

Betsy, you probably want to check out the BBCode Guide on inserting images: http://fayfreethinkers.com/forums/faq.php?mode=bbcode#9

Also, for future reference, you are able to edit your own titles, if I'm not mistaken.

Doug, that's the same general idea, but not the same photos...

the photos were emailed to me, so they're not on a website that I know of...??

If the other person you sent the pictures to is unable to get them posted, feel free to email them to me, and I'll put them up.

Pretty pictures, I don't see the connection to an "entrance to heaven." I do think the Hebrew picture is pretty pretty accurate though. For the Bronze age that is....

the little blue circle with something that looks like someone -- maybe even Jesus -- standing there welcoming you with open arms is the very center of the big swirly thing in the first picture.

Oh that's definitely Jesus alright. Looks like he may still be swing'in on the cross even. Never mind that this actual object may be many millions of light years across.

Oh, and there is the problem that when Jesus left the earth 2,000 years ago or so, even if he was hauling ass at the speed of light, he wouldn't even be out of our gallaxy yet. Sigh....

I think the picture above the last pair of pics looks more like Buddha than Jesus. I see a fat little face just down and to the left of where the supposed Jesus face is. Or maybe it is Jesus after he pigged out at the last supper.

Jitterbug Jesus?

Post by Doug »

The "someone" doesn't have "arms" evenly across the body. It sure doesn't look like a person with outstretched arms. It is not an "t" formation, but rather more of an "X" formation.

Maybe Jesus is doing the jitterbug? Then the posture is accurate. But where is his partner?

Image

On the other hand, note how we put it one way, but if we see it without assuming one part is "up," since it is in space and there is no "up," is it Jesus doing something else?

Image
Also, the blue thing with a dark space in it (the "Jesus") is about 100 light-years across. It looks like an "X" because we are viewing edge-on, like viewing the edge of a frisbee. It we looked at it face-on, the "X" shape would disappear. Also, the dark center is probably gas going around a black hole about a million times more dense than our sun.

blackholes.stardate.org/.../ factsheet.php?id=4

The dual galaxies in the first picture are known as deep space object M51, nicknamed "The Whirlpool Galaxy." You can find it at Hubble.org. The big spiral is NGC 5194, and a smaller spiral is NGC 5195.

Wow, is this Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, inside supernova SN1987?

OK, maybe it's ET.

Maybe Jesus is doing a cartwheel. Ever think about THAT? Huh? And who says Jesus can't travel at the speed of light? He's JESUS, for god's sake. He can do ANYTHING, even make himself a million miles tall, just so we can see him with our telescope.

Oh yes, I am sure he can go that fast (of he stretches his arms out striaght like superman does), but he can't go faster than that. Them's the rules.

I know you are rounding Betsy, but it is interesting to note that if this area is 100 lights years across as Doug says, then this Jesus is actually:

586,569,600,000,000 miles across.

That's 586 trillion miles.

That 586 MILLION times larger than one million.

That's a really big Jesus!

okay, I know that was stupid, but I was just playing devil's advocate - or in this case, jesus' advocate.

I posted this because it was sent to me by a man who is a Baptist minister, and they were sent to him by another minister, who told him they were actual photographs and they are all excited because they like the magical idea that it could be the entrance to heaven.

It wouldn't do any good to argue with them, because they would just say that anything's possible with God and therefore, your facts about time and space are not meaningful to them.

Where did you find the photos online?
