Al Gore's recent film about global warming got a lot of hype. Now you can see a documentary made by real scientists and learn the actual facts about climate change.

Climate Catastrophe Cancelled will be shown on CAT (Fayetteville Community Access Television) cable channel 18 at the following times:

Sunday, 8/20/2006 8:30 pm
Tuesday, 8/22/2006 7:30 pm
Friday, 8/25/2006 7:30 pm

The show is 23 minutes. It has the "intellectual ammunition" to counter the arguments and disinformation of the apocalypse abusers. It was made by "Friends of Science" in Canada to educate people about climate change when the Canadian parliament was considering the Kyoto protocol. Billy Bob sez check it out.

Please see the previous thread on the credibility of this "documentary" here. The discussion contains topics including statistical error, alleged fraud, and ignorance of subject knowledge.

Actually, there is no discussion in that thread (so far) alleging any errors in the documentary. There is a lot of discussion about some of the people who appear in the documentary.

This is because -- to the best of my knowledge -- you are the only one participating in that thread who has seen the documentary.

... and why their statements aren't to be automatically taken at face value.
If McKitrick has a tendency to base his claims on mathematical errors and imaginary temperature scales, and the video cites McKitrick and his work extensively, should we or should we not be aware of McKitrick's tendencies?
If Ball is presented as an expert climatologist who claims to know about ozone production and self-correcting mechanisms, but he really doesn't, why shouldn't we be aware that these deficiencies exist in his knowledge? What else does he incorrectly claim to know?
If the documentary cites McKitrick and Ball as credible sources, but McKitrick's and Ball's credibility are questionable, this speaks to the credibility of the documentary.

For you to say that these people are "real scientists" and clearly imply that others aren't is asinine. Remember, when you asked us to judge for ourselves, I chose the example that you thought good enough to mention and showed that Ball is just plain wrong.

Actually that's not true. I tried to watch this documentary (it's available all over the web) and made it about four minutes into it before I found problems. I posted this to the forum and Hogeye complained I took something out of context.

While trying to find it, I came across this excellent rebuttal to M & M and any swings at the hockey stick. If anyone wants to see the ground already covered on these guys and the hockeystick myths repeatedly brought up and slapped down, it's all been done here.

Here is the previous exchange on problems with the first couple minutes of "Climate Catastrophe Cancelled."
Climate Catastrophe Cancelled... It has the "intellectual ammunition"

I can't wait to start unpacking this intellectual ammunition. Better hope their powder is dry.
